HAUS 13th National Meeting

Group shot of
          virtual Kaffeeklatsch

The global COVID-19 pandemic may have kept us #zuHAUSe this year, but it did not keep HAUS from meeting. HAUS members from around the U.S. and Germany joined in the virtual event series that made up the HAUS 13th National Meeting. Some events echoed those of previous HAUS national meetings, but we were also able to take advantage of the virtual format to expand our offerings. We enjoyed gathering with our alumni community to celebrate the good 'old days spent at Ruperto Carola and learn about all of the exciting new developments on the horizon at Universität Heidelberg.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

A "Law and Order" Election: The Criminal Justice System and Political Discourse

In current polls, the criminal justice system is one of the top three issues Americans are concerned about in the upcoming elections. Heidelberg University Association and American Council on Germany are proud to feature Staten Island NY District Attorney, former U. S. Congressman, and Heidelberg alumnus Michael McMahon in conversation with Annett Meiritz, a U.S. Correspondent for the Handelsblatt Media Group based in Washington DC. Please join us for a discussion on the unprecedented way in which decisions being made by local police and prosecutors are taking on a national dimension.
