First gathering of the Heidelberg Alumni U.S. (HAUS) Regional Chapter in Washington D.C

HAUS Regional Chapter Southern California

All Heidelberg alumni and friends: let’s meet to see Tom Tykwer's "3" at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 in Pasadena!

German filmmaker Tom Tykwer’s new film “Three” is opening at the Laemmle in Pasadena. Tykwer, who directed “Run Lola Run" (1998), is one of the best known directors of the new German cinema. His new film “Three” promises to be a wonderful movie experience. It’s in German with English subtitles, which will allow you to practice your listening comprehension skills! Here’s a brief summary of the movie:

Hannah and Simon have been a couple for 20 years. They live in Berlin, side by side in combative harmony. They are attractive, modern, mature, childless, cultivated, down-to-earth. Affairs, wanting children, moving in together, miscarriage, fleeing and returning; this anchorwoman and art technician have put a lot behind them, but they don’t have so much ahead of them anymore. That is until both, without knowing about the other’s actions, fall in love with the same man, Adam.
Clearly not your typical 1930’s romp, this reinvention of those classic films with Tykwer’s sleek direction is a playful update: an intellectual study of a modern couple looking for redefinition in a world of absolutes.
